She takes over from Charles Rudd who has taken the position of senior insurance manager with Brockbank Underwriting Ltd., a subsidiary of Brockbank Group Plc. Brockbank Group is majority owned by Bermuda-based Mid Ocean Ltd.

Mid Ocean has provided corporate capital to Lloyd's syndicates managed by Brockbank's managing agencies.

Ms Gerlach has been in the satellite industry for over ten years. She joined ACE two years ago after five years as satellite underwriter with Munich Re and a further three years in the space industry.

She received a space and aviation engineering degree from the Technical University of Munich.
