Butterfield hits new 52-week high

Butterfield Bank shares surged 2.9 percent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading to hit a new 52-week high.
The bank rose five cents to close on $1.75, as 11,200 shares traded.
Insurer BF&M Ltd also gained, climbing six cents, or 0.4 percent, to close on $16.66, as 1,600 shares changed hands.
Ascendant Group Ltd fell 20 cents, or two percent, to $10, as 2,820 of the Belco owner’s shares traded.
KeyTech Ltd shares also shed a cent to close on $5.40, as 1,500 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 22.16 points, or 1.73 percent, to close on 1,301.87. Volume was 34,423 shares and turnover was just shy of $279,000.
The BSX Insurance Index dipped 8.1 points, or 0.59 percent, to close on 1,369.3.
