Dear Sir,

I was cruising through Hamilton yesterday and noticed a workman refurbishing The Birdcage. It brought back fond memories of the little structure housing a bobby, as traffic was directed up Queen Street, or along Front Street.

Dressed in their Bermuda shorts and white gloves, as tourists snapped eagerly to record something British and different.

I hope when the work is completed, that our past will be repeated, as many visitors are attracted to the things that make us apart.
