BSX inches higher
Small increases in the share prices of Butterfield Bank and two utility stocks sent The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index higher last week.
Butterfield gained one cent, or 0.7 percent, during the five days of trading to close the week on $1.50, as 226,873 shares traded.
The bank’s eight percent preference shares moved the other way, falling $14, or 1.2 percent, to close on $1,186, as 29 shares changed hands.
Both Ascendant Group and KeyTech moved higher by 0.9 percent. Ascendant rose nine cents to $10.10 as 8,980 shares were exchanged and KeyTech gained five cents to close on $5.40 as 11,985 shares changed hands.
Insurer BF&M closed the week 1.7 percent lower at $16.51 on the trading of 1,000 shares.
The index closed the week up 4.12 points, or 0.25 percent, at 1,182.43. Volume was close to 261,000 shares while turnover topped $636,000.
