No point baiting the hook if fish won’t bite

Dear Sir:
Whatever Tourism Minister Shawn Crockwell’s polls show about the attitude of Bermuda residents to the introduction of casino gambling in Bermuda is to some extent irrelevant if residents won’t be allowed to gamble.
Far more important, and worth knowing would be the attitude to gambling in Bermuda of existing and potential tourist visitors, from market research on the subject.
What’s the Tourism Minister’s evidence about whether and what proportion of visitors want gambling as part of their Bermuda experience?
It’s a pretty dopey fisherman that baits up with bacon to catch fish that actually prefer ‘chovies.
Sincerely,
Graham Faiella
