US company recalls padded crib bumpers

The ‘Sweet Lambie’ Crib Bumper has been recalled due to safety concerns.

A potentially dangerous padded bumper used for babies’ cribs is being recalled by its US manufacturer.The warning over ‘Sweet Lambie’ crib bumpers was issued yesterday by the company Pottery Barn Kids.About 12,000 of the bumpers are at risk of decorative stitching coming lose and entangling infants.No serious injuries have been reported, but the company said it was aware of two cases — one of which tangled around a child’s neck.The voluntary recall applies to bumpers made from April 2009 through July 2012. The manufacture date should appear on a tag near the bumper’s model number tag.Anyone affected should contact the company for instructions on how to return the bumpers for a gift card or replacement.
