Argus on board for cricket clinic

Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) have forged a partnership with local company Argus, who will sponsor the 2013 summer clinic."The Argo Foundation has been supporting youth development through cricket for the past four years and we are pleased to continue that support for the BCB Summer Clinic,” said a representative from the Foundation.“It is our aim to invest in programmes and services that enrich the lives of Bermuda’s youth and we believe this programme does exactly that by providing opportunities for players to develop their cricket skills alongside learning important life-skills.“The clinic provides players with an environment that encourages and requires discipline, focus, self-confidence, communication and teamwork, all of which are crucial to integrate successfully into society as a whole."Alison Hill, chief executive officer of Argus added: “The BCB Summer Clinic is a valuable community programme that provides Bermuda’s youth with opportunities to develop exercise habits through cricket in a safe, enjoyable, non-threatening, positive environment at an affordable rate. For that reason, it fits perfectly with our corporate giving theme of prevention engaging young people in healthy pursuits away from antisocial behaviours."During the clinic the participants play regular games among themselves and against other camps in the area.BCB president Lloyd Fray said: "We are extremely grateful to have the support from both the Argo Foundation and Argus this year. The BCB summer clinic is an important part of our youth development programme which offers cricket coaching in the areas of skill, knowledge, understanding and the spirit of cricket."The clinic runs from July 22 to August 23 from 9am to 3pm with optional after-camp supervision from 3pm to 5.30pm at Berkeley Institute Gym and nets and Western Stars Field for girls and boys age seven to 14.The camp costs $100 per week and an additional $50 per week for the after-clinic supervision. A full clinic schedule will be circulated shortly by the BCB.
