Win over Town would be a timely boost, says Peniston
Wolves skipper Jared Peniston believes a win over Dandy Town tomorrow night in their FA Cup quarter-final match at Devonshire Rec will be a huge confidence boost for his side. The Devonshire-based club are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone in eighth place with five league games remaining. While the league schedule takes a break for FA Cup action, Peniston reckons the cup tie against Hornets comes at an opportune time to give his team a potential motivational boost heading into the business end of the season.Wolves beat defending Premier Division and FA Cup champions Town 4-3 at Devonshire Rec when the teams met earlier this term.“This win is important because it will boost Wolves’ confidence for the rest of the season,” said the ex-Dandy Town player. “Wolves just need to fight like we did against them in the league previously this season.“In order to get a result we need to play as a team and work hard for one another.“If we come with the desire to make all the way we should be able to give Town a good fight. In their previous Cup match, they had to hold their nerve to beat Young Men’s Social Club and will need a bit more of that steel to advance to the semi-finals.“One heartbeat, one pack: that’s the recipe for success.“This game is about more than the FA, it’s about the rest of the season.“We need to stay up and this game is just hurdle we need to jump in order to get the confidence up for the next few games.”Kick off for tomorrow’s game is 8pm.FA Cup action continues on Saturday night when Robin Hood welcome Southampton Rangers to Goose Gosling Field at 9pm.Sunday’s action will see PHC clash with Devonshire Cougars at Southampton Oval, while Somerset Eagles make the short trek to Somerset Cricket Club to lock horns with Somerset Trojans.Scheduled start for Sunday’s matches is 2.30pm.
