Still no response from the OBA on strategist
The One Bermuda Alliance is maintaining a stony silence over its relationship with Marius Penczner.Smith’s North incumbent Patrice Minors asked her challenger Michael Dunkley to state whether the man who wrote the controversial post-2007 election analysis for the United Bermuda Party is working for the OBA.“Was this report not commissioned by the UBP and paid for by the UBP?” asked Mrs Minors at a press conference last week.“Is the author of this document currently advising the OBA or has he done so in the past?“If this strategist produced a report that Mr Dunkley said he was ashamed of several years ago before last week saying he didn’t remember receiving it, why would this same individual be consulting the OBA now?“We look forward to Mr Dunkley coming before the cameras and providing answers to these questions.”Mr Dunkley has already been asked by The Royal Gazette whether Mr Penczner was working for the OBA. He referred us to the party chairman or the party leader. But the OBA has ignored our queries about its relationship with Mr Penczner.Great efforts appear to have been made to persuade the public that the consultant’s report did not exist when others had already made public reference to it over the years.Mr Penczner claimed, through a lawyer, that he had “no input whatsoever” in the authorship of the report and threatened legal action over its publication. But his lawyer is no longer responding to queries on the matter since evidence of the report and his client’s involvement surfaced.
