Young people invited to make alcohol awareness video

CADA, the charity that promotes responsible drinking, is inviting young people to write, produce and direct their own videos on the topic.The organisation wants to increase awareness of the importance of keeping alcohol out of the hands of children and teenagers.The video competition is open to nine to 18-year-olds who must produce a film on the topic “what children and teens can do to prevent alcohol use amongst their friends, and why this is important”.It should be 50 seconds in length and made by a single producer or a team of six or less. A CADA press release stated: “There should be no profanity, no drinking alcohol, no drug use and no brand names mentioned in the video.”It added that the video must be shot in the highest quality setting available on the camera using a steady hand and good light. The winner will have their video highlighted throughout Alcohol Awareness Month in April on CADA’S website, Facebook page and during CADA events.The submission deadline is 5pm on March 20. The names of all people who worked on the video must be submitted with the finished product which can be delivered in one of the following ways:l On a flash drive or a DVD dropped off at CADA’S office: Suite 307 Melbourne House, 11 Parliament Street, Hamiltonl Via an FTP site, such as www.transferbigfiles.com or www.yousendit.com. CADA’S e-mail address is execdirector.cada[AT]logic.bmEntrants may include a stamped addressed envelope with their flash drive/DVD for it to be returned to them, or they may collect them from CADA’S office between April 2 and April 6 at 5pm.
