Island to form a chapter of International Women’s Forum
Bermuda has become an official member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) and is to launch its own chapter next year.The news follows Premier Paula Cox’s attendance at the annual event in Washington DC.Sixty members of the IWF are to visit the Island in January to set the groundwork for the new chapter. Ms Cox attended the event in Washington with a delegation of prominent Bermudian females in the private and public sectors.She said: “Bermuda is fully represented by a stellar group of women from both the private and public sector.“And it was tremendously gratifying when we were formally inducted as a member. To share this auspicious occasion with those Bermudian women who are here with me was very special. The IWF Board was robust in their support, impressed by our support and attendance and many indicated that they looked forward to visiting Bermuda in January.”
