Three young men pleaded not guilty to participating in a brawl near Bermuda College.Micah Fubler, 21, Tahj Robinson, 18, and Tahva Virgil initially pleaded guilty to taking part in a fight on College Road, Paget.Defence lawyer Elizabeth Christopher said her clients, Mr Virgil and Mr Roberts, requested their pleas be reversed. She told Magistrates’ Court that Mr Virgil acted in self-defence and that Mr Robinson went to the aid of his friend. The fight took place on October 22, at around 2.48am.“The only thing Mr Virgil did wrong was leave his house,” Ms Christopher said.Lawyer Charles Richardson, also asked for Mr Fubler’s plea to be changed. He said his client had also acted in self-defence.The court earlier heard that police were on duty near College Road when the fight erupted at the end of a party.Crown counsel Larissa Burgess said that all three defendants were seen throwing punches and kicks by the officers, despite being instructed to stop fighting.Officers used a Taser to detain Mr Robinson, who they said was repeatedly punching another person on the ground who was not before the court.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner noted Mr Robinson’s and Mr Virgil’s prior convictions, and remanded them both into custody until a trial on November 25. Mr Fubler had his bail extended until the same date.
