St David’s (138 points)The Warriors have the simplest task of all. Win and the title should be theirs. Lose and they will have to rely on Willow Cuts beating Bailey’s Bay.Bailey’s Bay (132 points)Must win and hope other results go their way. They could well end up paying a costly price for dropping bonus points throughout the season and being the victims of the year’s only rain-out in the Premier Division.Devonshire Rec (106 points)Finished their season last week by beating St George’s. They can’t go down, can’t win the title and are more than likely assured of a Belco Cup spot.Willow Cuts (93 points): Despite being fourth, Cuts could still go down although while this is mathematically possibly, it’s unlikely. For Cuts to perish, Rangers and St George’s would both have to win.Southampton Rangers (86 points)A side that looked certain to be relegated for most of the first half of the season, Rangers could still go one of two ways. Beating PHC should secure their safety and might even be enough to get them into the Belco Cup. Lose and they might be joining PHC in the First Division next season.St George’s (85 points)Second bottom, things aren’t looking good for St George’s. The East End team have been in freefall since July and have to travel to St David’s knowing that only a win will do. There are plenty of twists and turns left in the season, however, and St George’s could still end up in the final Belco Cup spot.PHC (72 points)Dead, buried, and needing the greatest comeback since Lazarus of Bethany, the Warwick side are now a First Division club in everything but name. Technically they could avoid relegation if they score 300-plus runs, bowl Southampton Rangers out in less than 30 overs, and throw a few 100-run partnerships and run-outs into the mix. It’s not going to happen.Social Club (0 points)Already relegated after withdrawing from the league. It will be interesting to see if players such as Rodney Trott and Garnell Hollis return next season to help re-build.Bonus pointsThe bonus points system hasn’t been universally popular with the Island’s cricketers but that might be because it requires a far more disciplined approach to the game than they are used to.However, the feelings the players of title-chasing Bailey’s Bay or PHC have on the matter are largely moot. The system is in place and if they want to win big this weekend here’s how they can do it:Batting (1pt-6pts)Winning the toss could be crucial on Sunday as batting first gives a side the chance to get the most number of bonus points available. Teams scoring more than 250 runs get one bonus point, they get another if they pass 300. Bonus points are also available for 100-run partnerships and batting out the overs.Bowling (1pt-4pts)Discipline and accuracy are key because there are points to be had from doing the basics well. Teams get one bonus point for bowling fewer than 10 wides and or no balls. There is another available for having two or more run outs in an innings, while two bonus points are awarded if a team bowls a side out in 30 overs or less. One bonus point is available for bowling a team out in fewer than 50 overs.
