Blaring welcome to Bermuda

September 5, 2011Dear Sir,First, a run to the terminal from the aircraft in pouring rain, then past the dead plants and overgrown palm trees in the gardens to our right and to top it all off the most inappropriate “music” blasting at us! Have travelled through a few airports but never, ever have I been subjected to the blaring assault that “greets” the arriving passengers at Bermuda’s LF Wade International Airport! Is Tourism Minister Patrice Minors aware of this? Who’s responsible for those gardens and the choice of welcoming “music” to the Island? There were many visitors lined up at Immigration and I stood there wondering what they must be thinking with this kind of welcome.Come on, airport authorities get the lead out and do something constructive about this sad state of affairs. I'm aware the airport is probably years away from jetways but we must remember the importance of first impressions.AMAZEDSt. George’s
