Workshop aimed at helping people to live their dreams
A series of workshops aimed at helping people to manifest their dreams kicks off next week.Kinesiologist Anita Parry will be hosting the monthly sessions at the Elbow Beach Wellness Centre (on the site of the old Elbow Beach Staff Club). The first one, at 6.30pm, on Monday, will explore goal-setting and explain how kinesiology can help people reach their goals. Later workshops will look at setting financial goals, becoming ‘money friendly’ and stress release made easy.“The workshop is more about the art and science of setting goals and this is the secret to manifesting whatever it is that you want to have in your life,” Ms Parry told The Royal Gazette.“I am working with the International College of Healing Arts in the US to introduce kinesiology workshops at Bermuda College starting in September.”Ms Parry taught languages for some 23 years, including in Bermuda between 1999 and 2001. While she was teaching, she completed a part-time, four-year international diploma course in energy kinesiology. She first learnt about it through Denise Gurney, wife of the former Deputy Governor Tim Gurney, who had her own kinesiology practice and also taught the diploma course at the Rock Institute, which was in their home.Ms Parry said her life changed as a result of the training she received here and in New Zealand.“When I read a book like ‘The Secret’, which a lot of us have read, I discovered that the secret to ‘The Secret’ is that it is still being kept a secret,” she said.“The tenet of the book is that focused positive thinking can have life-changing results such as increased wealth, health and happiness.“After being featured in two episodes of Oprah, the book reached the top of the New York Times bestseller list.“But it is not just about positive thinking. The fundamental premise of kinesiology is setting the goal and seeing what the blockages are to having that goal manifest in your life.“The kinesiologist facilitates this process. All of us have been given a mission on the earth. It is up to us as individuals to decide what that mission is, set goals to accomplish that, and live the life we want to live.“To be able to facilitate that for your client is very satisfying. I also know that I have the tools to create the life I want to live.”Ms Parry describes kinesiology as a holistic treatment in which practitioners evaluate the underlying cause of symptoms using simple safe, precise muscle-testing procedures, which allows them to see where an individual’s stress lies.Once the main cause of the disturbance has been established, whether it is structural, emotional or nutritional in origin, appropriate techniques are used to alleviate the symptoms. She said it was one of the most comprehensive and holistic forms of natural therapy, as it integrated the ancient wisdom of oriental medicine with the best of modern science to enhance health and function.“Kinesiology uses muscle feedback as a stress monitor, to identify and correct imbalances in the person’s structural, chemical, mental and emotional energy systems,” added Ms Parry.“More importantly, it addresses the communication and connection between these systems.“By correcting these imbalances, the kinesiologist is able to reactivate the body’s built-in healing ability as well as identify external factors affecting the client’s wellbeing. Kinesiology enables you to clear the blocks or barriers so you can accomplish your goals, tap into your inner resources and feel your best.“As a performance enhancing complementary therapy, it can be applied to any area or situation in life that you desire powerful change or improvement.“Kinesiologists can assist you to create positive and tangible results in your health and fitness, stress levels, happiness, relationships, creativity, sports performance, family life, career, spirituality and more.”Tickets for the first workshop are $20 and are available by emailing anita.parry[AT]gmail.com.Useful website: www.considerkinesiology.com.
