A thief stole a handbag from a visiting couple as they rode a rental cycle in St George's.Police are now looking for witnesses to the theft.They are especially interested in speaking with any taxi drivers travelling along Paynters Road between 5pm and 6pm on Wednesday.Said a spokeswoman: “It appears that two American visitors, a husband and wife, were riding a rental cycle along Stables Lane, St George's, when two unknown men rode up alongside them, snatched a handbag from the wife's shoulder and rode off.“The couple attempted to catch up with the suspects, but they made good their escape along Paynters Road. The visitors were not injured.”The suspects are described as black men in their early 20s. They were riding a dark-coloured motorcycle at the time.Persons with information are asked to contact Det Con Jason Trott on 295-0011.
