Ipswich opt to release Lambe
Reggie Lambe is searching for a new club after being released by English Championship side Ipswich Town, writes Stephen Wright.Town boss Paul Jewell told Lambe, on loan at League One strugglers Bristol Rovers, yesterday he would not be extending his stay at Portman Road.“I have spoken to Reggie and we wish him all the best for the future,” said Jewell.Lambe’s release from Town comes just days after his Bermuda team-mate Nahki Wells was shown the exit doors at Carlisle United. The 20-year-old winger joined the Town academy from school and has been an professional for the past two years. He made his debut in the Carling Cup victory over Shrewsbury last season and went on to make four more starts in the same competition as well as two Championship appearances as a substitute.Lambe is likely to be involved in Rovers’ final game of the season today against Colchester. Rovers are almost certain of relegation: they are three points from safety and with a far inferior goal difference.
