LOM tumbles 11.3%

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index finished lower over the four days of trading last week, on falls in the share prices of LOM (Holdings) Ltd and BF&M Ltd.Investment firm LOM tumbled 40 cents, or 11.3 percent, to $3.15 on the trading of 9,500 shares.Insurer BF&M ended the week shortened for the Good Friday holiday down by 70 cents, or 4.7 percent, to $14.30, as just 200 shares changed hands.Butterfield Bank saw the highest trading volume, with 143,765 of its shares being exchanged, but the price remained unchanged on $1.30.Butterfield’s preference shares were also in demand with 170 being traded as the price held steady on $1,250.Also, 11,300 shares of energy company Ascendant Group Ltd changed hands, but its price held at $14.The Index closed down 7.12 points, or 0.6 percent, at 1,153. Volume was just over 166,000 shares and turnover topped $600,000.
