Tennis players are well prepared for overseas competition

Billy Boyle, Courtland Boyle and Eva Franzonni are three of the Bermudian Saltus students taking part in this year’s tennis tournament overseas in the Dominican Republic. They left on March 12 to represent Bermuda. They have been selected for their achievement in local tennis tournaments. In order to prepare for the tournament they have both been working hard and training with each of their individual coaches leading up to this event. This is a very well known tennis competition, as 24 countries will take part in it.The team has practiced hard and is ready to represent Bermuda in the Dominican Republic. It takes a lot of hard work to be able to have the opportunity to play for and represent the country. This is going to be a great learning experience and all three students are very excited and eager to go. These students are well-rounded academics and athletes. They ensured they got all of the work that they will be missing while away from their teachers, which they are planning to complete in any spare time they may have. The team has a steady training session every day, even when away. It starts with running around the hotel and ends with the harsh matches in the tropical heat. Billy says he can’t wait to go and will hopefully try and give it his all in every one of his matches.Overall, this tennis trip should be very successful and extremely fun. Bermuda has gone to this event many times and team members have talked about the excellent quality of tennis and what an amazing experience this will be for all involved. The team representing Bermuda are looking forward to this trip and spending a lot of time practicing and preparing so they can hopefully win it.
