Justice Minister commends two men who complete Drug Court programme

Drug Court clients were this week commended by Justice Minister Michael Scott.Mr Scott presented certificates to two who, on Wednesday, completed phases of the drug treatment programme.One man kept drug-free for 20 months, with no infractions during his treatment.The Drug Treatment Court is run by Court Services as part of the Alternatives to Incarceration Initiative.Mr Scott urged all clients to keep fighting their addictions.He told the male clients: “You are fathers, husbands and breadwinners. You are vital in this community and we need you to take your rightful place as leaders.“Take advantage of this positive opportunity, and any others that come your way.”The facility was set up in 2001 to handle drug offenders through a programme of supervision, drug testing, treatment, and sanctions and incentives.
