Songwriting series continues at Chewstick Foundation on Sunday

The third part of a songwriting series takes place at the Chewstick Foundation on Sunday.“Although this session is intended to build on the knowledge gained in the first two sessions, it will be useful to those who have previously not attended,” said Chewstick director Gavin Smith.“This session will lead to positive collaborations and a whole new way of exploring one’s art.”Richard Bassett, president and founder of the Bermuda Songwriters’ Association, will host this last session, sharing his songwriting experiences.“This is an opportunity to encourage the synthesis of a song from start to finish. Songwriters of all ages can benefit specifically from this last seminar, as it will include a summary of useful information from the previous two and will immediately put it into practise.”He continued: “The only requirement for attendance is an open mind and a willingness to participate. It would be particularly useful if participants can bring instruments along, as this will aid in cultivating a subsequent performance of the songs.”The series is held in conjunction with the Bermuda Songwriters’ Association. It takes place from 3 to 5 pm. Cost $30.For more information telephone 292-2439 (CHEW) or e-mail info[AT]chewstick.com.
