A teenager avoided injury after an unknown gunman fired at him in Pembroke last night.

Police have reported a 17-year-old was shot at in the latest firearms incident, which took place in the area of Mount Hill and Overview Hill around 10.30 p.m.

According to officers, "a male discharged a firearm at a 17-year-old Pembroke male". The victim was not injured and the suspect escaped.

Police have not named either the victim or the suspect.
