A 35-year-old Southampton man was shot and killed near Victor Scott school this afternoon.

The shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on the school field. As many as 50 people were present at the time.

Police have yet to release the man's identity.

The area is now blocked off with several officers on the scene looking for evidence.

This marks the 41st confirmed shooting incident of the year - and the seventh since March 17.
