More blustery weather is expected to hit the Island today and through the week.

The Bermuda Weather Service is forecasting strong to gale force winds today and another low pressure system on Wednesday.

Yesterday the BWS issued a severe weather advisory with hurricane-force gusts expected of up to 65 knots.

While yesterday morning did bring torrential rain, storm gusts peaked at 60 knots.

Forecaster Nick Camizzi said: "We received a gust of 60 knots at Commissioner's Point, which was slightly less than the potential 65 knot gusts in the forecast.

"The thunderstorms that we were also expecting weakened just before reaching the Island."

He said: "Another significant low is expected to approach Bermuda on Wednesday, which is expected to bring strong to gale force-sustained winds and storm force gusts."

Mr. Camizzi added the forecast could change "as better information becomes available".
