Experts to advise on US taxes and investment
US experts will shed light on US taxes and investment strategies in volatile markets at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce next week in a special panel discussion.
Kathy Boyle, CFP, president of Chapin Hill Advisors based in New York and James Sabo a US tax specialist and president of Expatriate Tax Services LLC, will talk at the Chamber of Commerce next Monday, February 9, between 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.
Mr. Sabo, who is based in Bermuda, noted that the tax benefits for Americans living and working in Bermuda began to decline in 2006 when the tax benefit of foreign earned income exclusion and the foreign housing exclusion diminished.
Kathy Boyle is the founder of the financial advisors Chapin Hill. She has extensive experience of advising clients on life planning including asset protection, disability, income planning and estate management.
She is a regular commentator and guest on national television shows in the US such as CNBC's Power Lunch and Market Watch and has been interviewed extensively for publications including the Wall Street Journal.
She served two years on the Financial Planning Associations National Tax Subcommittee.
The subjects to be discussed include; how to capitalise on bull cycles, how to replace deferred compensation plans for US citizens working in Bermuda and how to qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion and foreign housing exclusion.
The event is free of charge for Chamber of Commerce members, non-members will be charged $20.
