BNTB shares rise

Butterfield Bank's rights issue shares rose 14.28 percent (one cent) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The shares closed at eight cents, with 387,694 shares traded.

The bank also saw 27,060 common shares change hands, climbing five cents to finish on $1.45 for the day.

Elsewhere the Ascendant Group Ltd. was up 7.14 percent ($1) at $15, as 454 shares were transacted and, also in the utilities sector, KeyTech Ltd. dropped 3.57 percent (25 cents) to $6.75, with 7,800 shares traded.

The only other trader was BF&M Ltd., which advanced 1.11 percent (15 cents) to $13.65, as 446 shares changed hands.

The Index, as a whole, edged up 26.19 points (1.99 percent) to 1,341.19, with 2,423,474 shares worth BD$282,117.70 and 1,490 shares worth US$15,272.50 transacted.
