Insurers lead way
Insurance proved to be the busiest sector on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.
BF&M Ltd. rose 6.8 percent (95 cents) to $14.95, with 218 shares traded, while Argus Group Holdings Ltd. fell 8.3 percent (70 cents) to $7.75, as 1,000 shares changed hands.
Butterfield Bank's common shares climbed 11.4 percent (20 cents) to $1.95, with 166,500 shares transacted, and the bank also traded 185 preference shares, but their share price held firm at $1,200.
Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. also boosted its share value by one percent (five cents) to $5.30, as 10,000 shares changed hands.
In the utilities sector, KeyTech Ltd. was up 10.2 percent (85 cents) at $9.15, with 370 shares changing hands, and the Ascendant Group Ltd. inched up 0.7 percent (10 cents) to $14.85, as 3,215 shares were transacted.
The Index, as a whole, rose 73.18 points (4.56 percent) to 1,602.67, with 181,303 shares worth BD$428,920.95 and 2,185 shares worth US$251,450 traded.
The BSX Insurance Index increased 1.89 points (0.19 percent) to 988.03.
