Butterfield Bank's common shares rose 20 percent (40 cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday.

The bank traded 15,735 shares to close at $2.40.

KeyTech Ltd. was also up 8.28 percent at $8.50, as 1,800 shares changed hands.

The Ascendant Group Ltd. transacted 600 shares, while BF&M Ltd. traded 2,000 shares, but both of their share prices remained unchanged at $14.90 and $14 respectively.

The Index, as a whole, climbed 141.61 points (8.83 percent) at 1,745.14, with 20,135 shares worth $89,660 changing hands.

The BSX Insurance Index slipped 13.46 points (1.34 percent) to 984.25.
