The Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) rose by 8.22 points (0.35 percent) to 2,375.37 yesterday.

A total of 6,740 shares worth BD$37,000 and 854 shares worth US$9,863.70 were traded during the day.

Butterfield Bank traded 6,440 common shares to open and close at $5.

The Ascendant Group Ltd. also saw 300 shares change hands, but its share price remained unchanged at $16.

The BSX Insurance Index dropped 7.85 points (0.83 percent) to 936.73.
