BSX climbs 2.5%
It proved to be a week of highs and lows on The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index (BSX) last week, with no fewer than seven companies seeing their shares change price.
The banking sector was the best off, with Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. and Butterfield Bank boosting their share values by $1.50 (16.66 percent) and 20 cents (1.69 percent) respectively.
But the insurance sector took a big hit, with Argus Group Holdings Ltd. and BF&M Ltd. down respectively by $1.90 (14.72 percent) and 45 cents (2.37 percent), while Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd., in the media, printing and publishing industry, suffered a $1 (8.33 percent) fall.
In the utilities sector Belco Holdings Ltd. fell $2 (11.11 percent) and KeyTech Ltd. dropped $1 (9.09 percent).
As a whole, the Index finished up 93.13 points (2.5 percent) at 3,717.34, with 230,260 shares worth $2,777,483 traded.
