New MP makes debut appearance
The reconvening of Parliament yesterday was a jovial affair with MPs crossing both sides of the House of Assembly to greet one another after the summer break.
Stately pomp and pageantry was then the order of the day, with the arrival of the Mace and Speaker Stanley Lowe, followed by prayers.
Government MP Zane DeSilva and Opposition MP Charlie Swan delivered a message to Governor Sir Richard Gozney that the House had met, with Mr. Lowe telling them to "get back sharply" due to a slight delay.
The arrival of the Black Rod then summoned Members to the Cabinet lawn for Sir Richard's delivery of the Throne Speech.
The first meeting of Parliament for the new session also saw PLP MP Michael Weeks sworn in.
The new MP for Pembroke East Central was introduced to the Chamber by Government Whip Lovitta Foggo.
He was instructed to read an oath and sign his signature to complete the formalities and then took his seat.
