Building a culture of wondering in school and home

When children are encouraged to ask wondering questions, they open themselves up to explore where there ideas come from, who and what influences them and how connections can be made that can be used for future learning.

When used in the context of learning, some schools are using this format to encourage discussions at home. Many parents no longer talk to their children and this is an easy way to achieve this.

This strategy helps to promote the determination of importance, making connections, synthesizing and inferring. It can also lead to healthy discussions and exploration about other cultures and history, beliefs, stereotypes and the connection between people and places.
