Ship carrying pipes may run aground off South Africa

JOHANNESBURG (Bloomberg) — A bulk carrier transporting steel pipes to Chile from India may run aground after developing engine trouble near Gansbai, South Africa, the South African Press Association reported, citing sea rescue officials.

The ship, the Nena J, is Greek-owned, Sapa said.

The ship, which has a deadweight of 42,230 metric tons, is owned by Fairsky Shipping & Trading SA, according to Bloomberg data.
