QuoVadis launches new data protection product
Bermuda-based QuoVadis has launched a product that it believes will help organisations better manage the security of their websites and servers, as well as to cut costs.
The company, which has grown from its Bermuda roots to have operations in Switzerland, the UK and the Netherlands, is today announcing a the launch of its Trust/Link SSL service.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology protects websites security, enables encryption of sensitive information and each SSL certificate contains unique, authenticated information about the certificate owner.
Last month, QuoVadis was recognised by the Bermuda Government with the 2009 Technology Innovation Award for the work behind Trust/Link SSL, which was developed by the company's Bermuda team working with customers, developers and IT security specialists around the world. "With IT budgets under increased scrutiny, QuoVadis Trust/Link allows organisations to better manage the costs of securing their communications and servers," QuoVadis chief executive officer Roman Brunner said.
"With Trust/Link SSL's expanded capabilities, QuoVadis can rapidly deploy to both medium-sized businesses and more complex enterprises requiring thousands of SSL certificates annually.
"Developed with hands-on involvement from our customers, the system provides an array of options for customised interfaces, delegated administration, multiple authorisation, auditing and reports, and web services access."
The system is already in use by a number of major clients, including financial services giant Credit Suisse, the UK outsourcer Capita and SWITCH, which provides technology services to the entire Swiss university system.
Kaspar Brand, PKI Project Manager at the SWITCH Foundation, said: "Trust/Link SSL allows us to balance efficiency and control over the management of SSL certificates across our variety of geographic and technical environments.
"QuoVadis Trust/Link makes good business sense, allowing us to build custom workflows linking our onsite subscribers with administrators through one secure portal, saving significant time and money."
Trust/Link SSL allows companies requiring multiple SSL certificates to pre-validate frequently used settings, so that their authorised staff can issue SSL certificates on demand. Trust/Link SSL also allows customers to adapt custom workflows to suit their internal work practices and allow users to manage their SSL certificates from one secure website.
Other prominent users of the service include healthcare and pharmaceutical group Galenica, hosting provider Exigo, Standard Bank, and other multinationals and public sector bodies.
