Bermudian students gain high honours at Atlanta tech college
Four Bermudians were recently nominated into the National Technical Honors Society in Atlanta.
National Training Board (NTB) students Glennisha DeShields, Stephanie Wilson, Tamicka Johnson and Allan Simmons were nominated by Alvetta Thomas, president of the Atlanta Technical College, for their "exceptional scholastic record" and their "unparalleled technical skills, teamwork and leadership".
As explained by the NTB, National Technical Honors Society membership is one of the highest honours awarded for excellence in technical education in the US.
Said Labour Minister David Burch: "Glennisha, Stephanie, Tamicka and Allan should all feel tremendously proud of their achievement.
"They are the quintessential example of what can be accomplished when hard work, discipline and dedication to their craft is applied."
Sen. Burch also commended the NTB team for their dedication and support in the training and development of all of their students.
He said: "This Government remains committed to equipping Bermudians with the educational and technical tools they need to thrive.
"And I am confident that the new NTB director, Mrs. Pandora Wright Glasford, and her team will apply all available resources to meet the current workforce demands to ensure that our Bermudian students continue on the path of success."
