Two Sandys burglaries

Two homes in Sandys have been burgled this week leading Police to issue a warning reminding people to secure their properties.

The first incident happened at 7.25 p.m. on Monday, when Police received a report of a burglary at a Railway Trail home. The homeowner said that between 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. someone broke in and stole cash and jewellery.

Another home at West Side Road was burgled on Tuesday between 9.45 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Someone broke in and stole cash.

A Police spokesman said: "Burglaries are still occurring throughout the Island and the Police are continuing to remind the public to securely lock their homes, including all windows and doors, before leaving their premises unattended for any length of time; as we are aware that in some instances criminals are taking advantage of insecure properties."
