Thief takes handbag

A thief stole a handbag containing cash and personal items from a Somerset home.

Police reported the complainant woke at 5.30 a.m Thursday and discovered her black leather handbag missing.

The bag contained cash, a watch and personal items.

Youth is focus for Police Week

Police are to highlight youth and commitment in a week of events planned for next month.

A sports day, church service and barbecue are among the activities scheduled for Police Week, which begins October 4.

The theme is 'Our Youth, Our Commitment'.

Events kick off with a non-denominational interfaith church service at BUEI at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 4.

The week concludes with a Police ball on Saturday, October 10 at the Fairmont Southampton Princess. Tickets are $125.
