Role: Associate, Client Services, Aardvark Communications Ltd.

What is your job? My job is basically to interact with the clients to figure out their strategic marketing and communications needs, how they can effectively market their organisations to the appropriate target segments, and then work with our creative team and other vendors to make it happen. Working in a small agency, I get to experience many different facets of marketing, including event planning, PR, and branding, as well as the traditional advertising.

What is your favourite part of the job? I love interacting with all my different clients and I really enjoy finding innovative ways of getting their messages out to the public. I also love my work environment; the people I work with are hilarious.

What is your least favourite part of the job? When 10 clients call at 9 a.m. all wanting new projects turned around by noon!

What is your most interesting experience in the job? No two days are the same, so most experiences around here are pretty interesting! One that stands out for me is working on the Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation's Economic Empowerment Zone documentary with Fresh Creations. It was my first time working on a television programme of that scope and it was really interesting to see the project develop from an idea into a 60-minute programme that incorporated all of the branding that we had built into the organisation. It really tied together the campaigns that we had been running up until that point for that initiative.

What would you be doing otherwise? I would definitely still do something that had me working closely with people and influencing public perception in a positive way. I take any opportunity I can to travel, so if I wasn't at Aardvark, I would probably be travelling and meeting people around the world, possibly working with a global charity or non-governmental organisation.
