Integro hires top New York insurance official

Insurance brokerage Integro has hired the New York State Department of Insurance's deputy superintendent and general counsel Robert Easton.

Mr. Easton (38) will become the company's deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer, effective April 19.

New York-based Integro, which has an office in Bermuda on Par-la-Ville Road, was established in 2005 as an alternative to the bigger brokerage firms and focuses on providing complex risk solutions.

Easton has been in the deputy superintendent's role in New York since 2007. Previously, he served as deputy solicitor general of the New York State Department of Law. He will report to Integro general counsel and managing principal William Costantini.

As chief legal officer of the New York State Insurance Department, Easton worked to protect policyholders while also taking into account the impact of the agency's actions on the insurance marketplace.

"Rob brings vast industry experience and a track record of effectiveness and success to Integro," said Peter Garvey, the company's president and CEO.

"His extensive knowledge of insurance regulation and his concern for those adversely affected when transparency is lacking will serve to further advance and protect Integro's clients. We are delighted and consider it a testament to both our performance and our reputation that he has chosen to join us."

Mr. Easton said: "I'm looking forward to partnering with Integro, an innovative and entrepreneurial firm that's earning rave reviews and raising the industry bar in client service."
