Big evening in prospect for Canadian Night at Bermuda Folk Club this weekend
One of the biggest evenings of the year is anticipated on Saturday as the Bermuda Folk Club hosts its annual Canadian Night.
A full roster featuring 12 acts, including four bands, has been assembled and it is expected that an audience of around 150 people will come to listen to a night of Canadian-inspired tunes at the Spanish Piont Boat Club, in Pembroke.
Amongst those taking part are Mike Casey, Joy Barnam (as Joy and The Channel), Chris Broadhurst and new Island band Harrington Sound.
Organiser and guitarist Michael MacPhee, who will be providing musical support to a number of the acts, said: "It is one of the more well-attended folk club nights, along with the Irish Night.
"This year there is a pretty good depth of talent and having four bands is unprecedented. The style of music will include folk and classic cajun."
Other performers featured this Saturday are; D to the Maks and CFL, Monty P, Keith and Jenny, Alana MacPhee, Scott Neil, Fighting Fitz and The Knock Ons.
To fit all the acts in the night will start promptly at 8 p.m. and, providing the weather is good, will use the outdoor 'shell' stage, allowing the audience to enjoy music beneath the stars.
Mr. MacPhee said: "There is so much talent out there. It should be a fantastic night."
