Butterfield slips 2.6%

Butterfield Bank's share price slipped back 2.6 percent yesterday at the end of week in which the bank gained around 32 percent.

In light Friday trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX), the bank lost five cents to fall to $1.85, as 3,000 shares changed hands.

Insurer BF&M Ltd. remained unchanged on $12.50 as 7,000 shares traded.

The only other domestic issuer to trade was Media House Ltd., which is due to delist from the BSX next month, and was unchanged on $13.25 as 178 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 23.87 points, or 1.6 percent, to 1,451.09.

Volume was 10,178 shares and turnover was $95,146.

The Bermuda Insurance Index of the Island's leading international insurance companies plunged 2.6 percent on a down day for Wall Street. The Index fell 24 points to close on 878.00.
