Bda Press falls 28%

Bermuda Press Holdings Ltd.'s share price yesterday fell 28.7 percent to hit its lowest point since 2001.

The $3.45 fall, on the low volume of 3,600 shares, left the BPH share price at $8.55. BPH is the owner of The Royal Gazette, as well as a portfolio of printing, retail and real estate assets.

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index slipped three percent yesterday, as three other companies saw their stock price slip.

Butterfield Bank gave back some of the 33 percent gain it made on Tuesday, falling 10 cents, or five percent, to $1.90, on the trading of 52,603 shares.

LOM Holdings Ltd. declined for a second successive day, shedding 15 cents, or 4.5 percent, to close on $3.15, after the trading of 7,500 shares.

Meanwhile, insurer BF&M Ltd. slipped back 4.2 percent, or 55 cents, to close on $12.50, as 6,000 shares were exchanged.

The Index fell 45.3 points to close on 1,474.96. Volume was 69,800 shares and turnover topped $238,700.
