LOM tumbles 16%

Local stocks ended the week on a negative note as three stocks tumbled on low volume.LOM (Holdings) Ltd. suffered the biggest fall, dipping 16.3 percent, as 500 shares changed hands. The investment services firm fell 65 cents to close on $3.35.Insurer BF&M Ltd. was the biggest trader, with 1,000 shares exchanged. Its stock price finished the day at $15.30, lower by 70 cents, or 4.4 percent.

Insurer BF&M Ltd. was the biggest trader, with 1,000 shares exchanged. Its stock price finished the day at $15.30, lower by 70 cents, or 4.4 percent.

Butterfield Bank also slipped one percent, finishing the day on $4.80 after a fall of five cents. Just 200 of its shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell 26.46 points, or 1.1 percent, to 2,247.87.

Volume was 1,700 shares and turnover totalled $17,935.

The BSX Insurance Index also lost ground, shedding 3.96 points, or 0.4 percent, to close on 1,006.91.
