Both Butterfield Bank and Belco Holdings were active - with 7,087 shares and 1,100 shares trading respectively - but both closed unchanged.

Butterfield shares closed and $12 and Belco at $16.

The Bermuda Insurance Index gained 2.25 percent to close at 782.74.
