Four hurt in bus shelter crash

Four people ended up in hospital after a car hit a bus shelter in Hamilton Parish around 4.45 a.m on Saturday.

According to a Police spokesman, the vehicle was travelling west on North Shore Road near Fractious Street when the driver lost control.

The man at the wheel, a 22 year old from Hamilton Parish, suffered head injuries.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, and later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

His three passengers, a 20-year-old Hamilton Parish man, a 20-year-old Devonshire woman and an 18-year-old Devonshire woman were also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

They sustained head injuries, abrasions to the forehead and left hand and abrasions to the left hand respectively. The car and bus shelter were extensively damaged.
