Children's theatre coming to Bermuda
will be coming to Bermuda this summer.
The Missoula Children's Theatre has been touring around the world for 27 years. Based in Missoula, Montana, the theatre also has many other programmes -- Musical day Camps, a summer residency performing arts camp.
The theatre arrives during the week of July 19 with everything except the actors and actresses. After holding auditions they then pick 50 to 60 local kids to star in the production.
The children will be trained by a team of professional actors, actresses and directors for one week after which a production will be held twice on Saturday, July 24 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's AME Centennial Hall and 7 p.m. at Ruth Seaton James Centre for Performing Arts.
The productions are "original adaptations of classic children's stories and fairy tales...a twist on the classic stories you know and love''.
For the week they are in the Island, the professional actors, actresses and directors will host four workshops that will be available to the public.
Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills, and self-esteem are some of the important characteristics that they hope will be attained by the educational production.
