Caribbean junior under-12 champion, James Stout, notched his first tournament victory this season by taking the gold medal in the top grade of the Pirates

The Grand Prix series offers juniors a chance to compete at their own level.

Touraments are held once a month throughout the squash season (September through May).

The next event will take place on Saturday, October 19.

The international graded squash tournament, a first for Bermuda, has attracted a bumper entry of 113 players -- 71 men and 42 women.

Standards range from recent beginners through to players of national team level. Each player will compete in one of 12 draws against others of a similar ability.

OBM Architecture & Interior Design are sponsoring the tournament as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations in Bermuda.

Local contenders in the men's top division are Julian Rose, Colin Alexander and Richard Brewer who will each have to fight some stiff opposition from US player Richard Sheppard.

In the ladies A, Denise Kyme will confront the talents of victoria Deans from England and Sandy Worthington from the USA. The main event finals will run from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Sunday.
