And the Registrar of the Deputy Governor's office said he could not speculate on what might be the outcome of the case of the Sri Lankan teen.
Yesterday, Registrar Paul Dryden said: "Through the British Consul in Geneva we have been trying to get an answer in the matter.'' Mr. Dryden said although it has been some time since the original request was sent, his office expects an outcome soon.
Gopinath may have violated his refugee status in Switzerland by leaving late last year before being arrested in Bermuda on March 19 as he tried to leave the Airport to board a flight to the United States.
He told Senior Magistrate Will Francis he would be killed if he were returned to Sri Lanka.
