The dividend, payable November 22 to shareholders of record November 8, will be nine cents per share, up from the eight cents per share paid in third quarter.

The move represents a 12.5 percent increase over the eight cents offered in third quarter and a 20 percent increase over the dividend paid in fourth quarter 1995.
