Three employees who admitted to stealing while on the job at Gosling Brothers Ltd. were sentenced in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Leonard Moniz, 24, of York Street, St. George's, was placed on 18 months probation.

Flora Elaine Washington, 24, of Wellington Street, St. George's, received 12 months probation.

And Bruce Clarence Eugene Young, 30, of Curtis Lane, Sandys, was given a conditional discharge, meaning no conviction will be registered if he stays out of trouble for the next year.

After numerous thefts, Gosling Brothers management installed a security camera last December. The camera captured employees taking money from the till and liquor off the shelves.

Moniz, who was the assistant manager of the Front Street liquor store, admitted he stole five bottles and one magnum of Dom Perignon champagne, plus one wine cooler. Total value of the goods, stolen between May 13 and June 21, was $586.55, court was told.

Washington admitted she stole $300 between December 1 and May 13. "It seems to me that it's unlikely that you're going to offend again,'' acting Magistrate the Wor. Charles-Etta Simmons said.

Young was not caught red-handed by the camera, but admitted to management he stole $10 to $15 from the till and consumed sodas without paying for them.
